when petitioners being oppressed and beaten, roɛe to

give opposition, several men were shot but fortun-

-ately no one was killed.

Petitioners fear that

their lives will be taken away some day and pray Your

Honour to see that they are justly treated.

Plaint of

According to the conditions of the contract,

the monthly wage is $15.00 gold, 10 hours work a

day, and Sundays and festivals are holidays, and

master provides food and paɛɛages; and so petition-

er came. The master is very hard, etriking and

abusing petitioner, and only pays him 12 marks a

month. He has to work from 6 o'clock in the morning

up to 9 o'clock in the evening. If sick and unable

to work, he would be taken to Court and there beaten.

The contract is held by the master whose name is

Pakin and petitioner cannot say anything. He praye

Your Honour to direct that his wages be fully paid.
